Karmatang beach, at turtle nesting ground is being developed as tourist complex. Situated at Mayabunder, northern part of Middle Andaman, 240 kms by road and 136 kms by boat from Port Blair. Situated at Mayabunder, northern part of Middle Andaman, Karmatang Beach is the location of a turtle nesting ground. One can view nesting of turtles during Dec - Feb season. One can go to Kalighat (for Diglipur) by boat from here.

You can easily
access Karmatang as Port Blair
is connected to Chennai and Calcutta
by Air. The journey time is approximately
2 hrs. for both sectors. From
Port Blair you can either pick
the road route or cruise through
the water by boat. Jet Airways
has also started their services
every day of the week on Chennai-Port
Blair-Chennai sector.
Aqua Lines :
Regular passenger ship services
are available to Port Blair from
Chennai, Calcutta and Vishakhapatnam.
There are three to four sailing's
every month respectively from
Chennai and Calcutta to Port Blair
and vice-versa and from Vishakhapatnam
once in every two months. The
voyage takes about three days
and ships normally berth at Port
Blair for about two days. From
here you can reach the exact destination
by road or boat.
