Day 03: Manali -Day comes with a chance to assemble our bikes and prepare ourselves for the adventure ahead! Manali is a beutiful little town situated in Kullu valley and the perfect place to take the bike for a test ride and to get used to India roads. Manali nestles at the head of a lush green valley, on the banks of the Beas river and at the base of the Himalayas.
Day 04: Manali-Marhi - Our first day's cycling, and what a day it is! We enjoy the day, almost as soon as we leave Manali the well-paved road begins to climb, and will still be climbing when we get to our camp at Marhi, by covering 32 km from Manali. There are dhabas every few kilometers on the way, and guestrooms are available at Marhi. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.
Day 05: Manali-Sissu-Keylong -- Early morning move to Sissu, covering 53 kms. You will pass through the Rohtang pass on your way. The condition of roads may have to beechecked on this stretch. There are dhabas about a kilometer below the summit of the Rohtang Pass, and at Gramphu and Khoksar on the other side. You may camp at Sissu for lunch and relax there. Then after continue short and easy ride to Keylong crossing mountain streams flowing over the road covering 32 km. Overnight stay at camp.
Day 06: Keylong-Petseo-Sarchu - Early morning after breakfast ready to easy ride Petseo covering approx. 48 kms. There is a hotel at Jispa, which also provides good breakfast. Dhabas and tent camp-style accommodation is available at Darcha. After relish your food and freshup just proceed to Sarchu on the border between Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Sarchu is inhabited by Himalayan Clan Gaddi and few lonely soldiers at an army outpost. It is also the actual border between Lahaul and Zanskar. The distance of approximately 95 km is covered in around 4 hours. Arrive and overnight stay in tents at Sarchu.
Day 07: Sarchu-Whisky Nullah -Early morning after breakfast in tents ready to cycling to Whisky Nullah by road covering 51 km. The road very good. You have to go uphill at Gata loops and on up to Nakeela Pass. You may camp at Whisky Nullah. A small stream is the only source of water below the summit of the Nakeela Pass on the northern side 1-2 km before reaching Whisky Nullah at the bottom. This water must be treated before usage. The day passes some beautiful arid mountain scenery of the high ranges. Overnight in the camp.
Day 08: Whisky Nullah-Pang - Early morning after breakfast move to Pang by road covering 30 km stretch is rather rough, but ideal for the tough bikers or riders. There is a campsite by the river where you can pitch for the night.
Day 09: Pang- Taglang La - Early morning after breakfast ready to cycling to Taglang La by road covering 53 km. Starting 1 km below the summit, Manali side. There is a rather hefty climb to the top of the Taglang La and it's 40 kms downhill on the other side. About 5 kms after arriving at the river, you find the first dhaba of this stretch at the bottom of Taglang La. You can also camp and use the river for water. After this, there are dhabas in several villages, and some also have tent camps. Fresh stream water can be considered a scarcity in this area though you might find some isolated mountain streams flowing down from the Tanglangla. The ride is easy going being a flat plateau area, but the road, which stretches on ahead, is not as smooth as it looks. There are tiny bumps all along! Stay overnight in Camp at the base of Tanglang La.
