| Beaches
In Goa |
| Known
as the paradise for beach lovers as
well water sports, the seductive Goan
coast is sprinkled with excitement.
|
| |
|
| |
| Compares
to its surrounding beaches, Candolim
-15 km form Panaji in the Bardez Taluka,
is very quite, this is due to the fact
that they didn't built resort all around
the beach. The Candolim beach gets its
name from the small Candolim village
that was once settled near it. Now the
village itself has transformed itself
into one of the most happening tourist
hot-spots with a big number of resorts
and restaurants alongside a long stretch
of the road. This beach is quite in
comparison to the other crowded beach
like Anjuna. There is good food and
long and straight beach backed by scrub-covered
dunes with little shelter. Candolim
is a surprisingly sedate resort, attracting
mainly middle-aged package tourists
from the UK and Scandinavia. |
|
| The
beach is quite peaceful than other beaches
of Goa as it is a dispersed village
with no real center. The beach where
they used to hold yoga positions is
lined with sun beds, parasols and shack
cafes, and the surf sees more jet-skis
and paragliders than fishing boats.
On the plus side, Candolim has lots
of pleasant places to stay, many of
them tucked away down quiet sandy lanes
and better value than comparable guesthouses
in nearby Calangute, making this a good
first stop if you've just arrived in
Goa and are planning to head further
north after finding your feet. |
| Attractions
of Candolim Beach |
The
Candolim beach also offers a variety
of water-sports activities, right

special guides to help you through
these daring water sports. One

beach is the boating excursion
during the evenings that offers
you a breathtaking view of the
Goa sunset. You can also visit
the chapel of St. Lawrence and
the Candolim Church
built by Father Pedro De Belem
in 1560 dedicated to Our Lady
of Hope. |
