| Alwar is another great tour destination in Rajasthan. Alwar is nested between a cluster of small hills of the Aravalli range. Formerly known as Mewat, Alwar was once an important Rajput state. | Brief History |
| It has no mean history. It traces its tradition back to the kingdoms of Viratnagar that flourished here around 1500 B.C. It is also known as Matasya Desh or the ‘ Land of Fish ' where the pandavs. Matsya Desh was, in fact, the whole region around the present districts of Jaipur, Alwar and Bharatpur, with Viratnagar as its capital. The mightly heroes the Mahabharata, spent the last year of their 13 year exile. The Matsyas, as the inhabitants of this area were called, supported the Pandava brothers against their famous battle against their cousins, the Kauravas. This is the reason why there are so many monuments scattered around Alwar which are named after the Pandavas. In fact, going to Alwar means like walking into another age. |
| The city of Alwar is believed to have founded by a member of the Kachh family who hailed from Amber, but control was wrested from the Kachhwahas of Nikumbhas. The people of the state did not accept any external interference and daringly resisted against foreign invasions. |

| Bala Qila : This one of the ancient court that was constructed before the rise of Mughals. The unique fort stands 300 above the city and these days. it is used as radio transmitter station. A special permission from S.P is needed to explore the fort. |
| Palace Complex : This Palace is now been converted into a museum that showcased collection of royal dresses in beautiful embroidery tuffed animals, Kashmiri coat work and stone sculpture including 11th century sculpture of Vishnu.
